Easily master the key points of 0-10V dimming

What is 0-10V dimming?

0-10V dimming is divided into 0/1-10V, PWM, and adjustable resistor dimming

0-10V dimming principle:

The led driver is designed with a control chip. When connected to a 0-10V or 1-10V dimmer, the led driver output current is changed by the 0/1-10V voltage change. Like this:

When the 0/1-10V dimmer is adjusted to a maximum of 10V, the lamp outputs at full brightness. When the 0-10V dimmer is modulated to 0, the lamp output is turned off.

The difference between 0-10v and 1-10v dimming: The start-up and shutdown voltages of the lamp are different. 0-10V dimming starts at 0.3V, and the lamp output is turned off when it is lower than 0.3V; 1-10V dimming starts at 0.7~0.8V, and the signal is lower than 0.6V to turn off the lamp output.

PWM dimming principle:

Pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming: The frequency of the PWM signal is required to be greater than 500Hz and the amplitude is greater than 10V. The brightness is changed by changing the pulse width. The following figure shows the schematic diagram of the input PWM signal and output current:

The practical application of 0-10v dimming

Jusinpower’s 0-10v dimming led driver is divided into constant current and constant voltage dimming led driver

Constant current 0-10v dimming led driver: multi-level current, wide voltage input, high efficiency, smooth dimming curve without flicker. Mainly used for dimming of LED constant current linear lights, tri-proof lights, panel lights and other lamps.

Constant voltage 0-10v dimming led driver: set short circuit, overload, overvoltage and other protection functions, support customized dimming curve, improve dimming effect, and is widely used. Mainly used in light strips, light bars, and other LED lamps for brightness adjustment.

The advantages of 0-10V dimming driver are simple application, good compatibility, high precision and good dimming effect.

Adjustable resistor dimming principle:

Adjustable resistor, also known as potentiometer dimming (usually a variable resistor), can change the current or voltage in a circuit. By rotating the potentiometer (or sliding the rheostat), the resistance value is changed, which in turn affects the amount of current flowing through the load.

By adjusting the size of the resistor, the current size is affected, and the brightness of the lamp is adjusted:

Increase the resistance: reduce the current, reduce the brightness of the light.

Decrease the resistance: increase the current, increase the brightness of the light.
